Getting Started with Gen8

Gen8 is a powerful AI agent platform that allows you to create, customize, and deploy AI-powered assistants for your organization. This guide will help you understand the core concepts and get started quickly.

Core Concepts

Agents (Templates) are the heart of Gen8. An agent is a customized AI assistant configured with a system prompt that defines how the AI behaves, a user prompt providing initial context or questions, tools that give the AI capabilities like searching or creating documents, and knowledge bases containing document collections the AI can search.

Projects help organize your work by providing context to AI agents. Each project includes background information available to the AI and can contain project files that become automatically available during conversations.

Knowledge Bases are collections of documents that AI agents can search to find relevant information. They support various file formats and can import content through website crawling.

Artifacts are documents created by AI during conversations that can be edited, versioned, and shared with your team.

Quick Start

Getting started with Gen8 involves four simple steps: join or create an organization (all work in Gen8 happens within an organization), create your first agent with custom instructions, start a conversation to chat with your agent and see it in action, then refine and improve by adjusting prompts and adding tools as needed.
